EASEWorks – Work Instruction
Several terms are used in industry to describe the
information developed by Manufacturing Engineers to
support the factory floor. These terms include Process
Documentation, Computer Aided Process Planning, Work
Instructions etc. and typically encompass any
information that shop floor supervision and operators
might need to complete their task. This information can
include Routers, Text, Reference Documents, Quality
Standards, Digital Images, CAD, Video, Work Standards,
Ergonomic Assessment and Analysis, Tooling and Job Aids
Required, Material and Parts Lists.
The Work Instruction Module is designed to provide
Manufacturing and Planning Engineers with the ability to
create manufacturing and assembly plans for any product
or process.
With the many capabilities of the system, including the
use of multimedia, graphics, digital images and text,
engineers can define, create, save and deliver detailed
work instructions to any authorised user either as a
hard copy document or electronically, using the
web-enabled viewing capability of the system.

Work Standards
For many engineers developing labor or work standards is
a process undertaken using a stopwatch. This approach
can be very time consuming. With EASEworks®
and a standard data approach it is now both much faster
and easier to develop the required standards.
Additionally, work standards created using EASEworks®
are more consistent, more accurate and easier to
maintain than those created by any other method.
How does EASEworks work?
EASEworks® comes supplied with a library of
Universal Standard Data that requires no prior knowledge
of predetermined systems or coding structures to apply.

Line Balancing
In order to maximise throughput and minimise costs;
effective line balancing is essential where the work
progresses down an assembly or build line. EASEworks®
uses the work standards from the Work Standards Module
to create an initial line balance. EASEworks®
graphically displays the time the part/ product spends
at each workstation and provides the capability to
dynamically rebalance the line to achieve the smoothest,
most efficient result. Using the Line Balancing Module
you can review and make changes to the
balance to achieve the required throughput. Elements
can be moved between workstations; the number of
operators at each workstation can be altered; a
workstation can be added or deleted. At stations with
more than one operator distribution of the work within
the station can be analysed to improve the station
balance. Line Balancing uses the data from one or many
plans. Multiple parts can be balanced on the same line.
The Line Balancing Module retrieves all operations and
their associated elements and displays a histogram
showing the amount of time each part spends at each
workstation – the list goes on…

Product Cost Estimating
Good cost estimating is the foundation for competitive
product pricing. EASEworks® takes the
guesswork and inconsistency out of the estimating
process by making the essential data and information
available to your estimators from a single integrated
source. EASEworks® is a Knowledge Center of
your manufacturing processes and practices and it can
hold in its own database, or import from your database
B.O.M.s, tooling costs, material costs, labour,
overheads, scrap and rework costs. It is an ideal
resource for product cost estimating.
EASEworks presents your estimators with essential data
and information from a single integrated source. By
using this detailed information the guesswork and
inconsistency is taken out of the estimating process.
With EASEworks® you can take the fullest
advantage, optimising the reusable knowledge to create
product cost estimating quickly, accurately and
consistently; with the ability to quickly create
estimates for products not yet in production – visit:

Manufacturing Data Management
The EASEworks® Manufacturing Data Management
Module (MDM) is designed to provide control to the
process of creating, maintaining and delivering critical
information to anyone within the company needing to use
or view that information.
The MDM creates a single point of entry and control for
your process information, whether it is in multiple
computer systems, different departments within a single
facility, or facilities around the world.
Creating, controlling and indexing manufacturing/
process planning involves a wide range of documentation
including: Work Instructions, CAD and Graphics, Job
Aids, Control Plans, Parts List, Fixtures, Line
Balancing, Work Standards and Methods, Layout, Ergonomic
Assessment, Audits, Tool Management…
Once created, the information must be easy to deliver
and instantly accessible to the user… with the EASE MDM
- the information is all at one location anywhere you
want to see it.
